CGRP Migraine Medications in New Jersey: A Guide for Prescribers & Patients

CGRP therapies work — when the patient can actually get them. In practice, most of the friction sits between the prescription being written and the first dose reaching the patient: prior authorization, step-therapy documentation, quantity limits, savings-card enrollment, and cold-chain shipping for the injectables. Our prior-authorization workflow

4. We follow up with the plan and report status to both the office and the patient.

Most commercially insured patients qualify for a manufacturer program that lands them between $0 and $5 a month. Cards expire, reset annually, and silently stop working under copay accumulator plans — so we re-verify at each fill rather than at enrollment only. Patients with Medicare or Medicaid cannot use these cards; for them we screen patient-assistance programs, formulary alternatives, and cash pricing. Cold chain and delivery

Emgality, Aimovig and Ajovy autoinjectors ship in validated refrigerated packaging with free same-day or next-day delivery anywhere in New Jersey. Patients get a call before the courier leaves so someone is home to receive it, plus written storage and travel instructions. Room-temperature oral therapies can also be delivered or picked up at the counter.
